How to Reset a Skoda Key

Just received a notification from my infotainment device to inform me that the battery for my key is low and needs replacing. It's not the first time, and the last time I went to an auto dealer, they replaced it for free in 2 minutes and assured me that it would be working again.
Switch the ignition ON and secure the vehicle mechanically. Press the unlock button on the remote control five times in 1 second intervals. A short horn tone will be heard.
The EEPROM Method
When your car key stops working, it may take a while for a professional to reprogramme it. In many cases, this involves reading the EEPROM to locate the unique code for that specific vehicle. This is a risky process since there's a great chance that the data stored in the module could be corrupted. It's best to leave this to a skilled locksmith.
An EEPROM is an in-built memory that is non-volatile and can be found in a variety of electronic devices, such as keys for cars.
